During an investment promotion trip to South Korea, on the afternoon of September 8, 2026, Mr. Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, held a working session with Mr. Jung Won Ju, Chairman of Daewoo E&C. The meeting reaffirmed the strategic commitment between the capital’s administration and the South Korean investor while unlocking new breakthroughs for the Starlake Tay Ho Tay Urban Area.

At the meeting, Daewoo E&C Chairman Jung Won Ju expressed deep gratitude for the tremendous support from Hanoi’s leaders over the Group’s 30-year journey in Vietnam. Outlining the next phase for the Starlake project, he proposed practical recommendations to optimize the urban landscape. Specifically, the Group requested the city’s continued support in accelerating administrative procedures, perfecting the legal framework, and advancing the master plan to relocate central government ministries’ headquarters to the Tay Ho Tay area.

The Daewoo E&C leader emphasized that the early establishment of the new administrative center at Starlake will act as a major strategic catalyst. In tandem with this process, the Group is committed to continuous investment, developing additional premium Grade-A office complexes and supplementary infrastructure, thereby contributing to Hanoi’s vision of a balanced, multi-polar urban landscape.

Acknowledging Daewoo E&C’s iconic contributions to Hanoi, Chairman Vu Dai Thang affirmed that he will directly instruct relevant departments to focus on reviewing and resolving the current administrative obstacles facing the Starlake project. Concurrently, the city leader requested Daewoo E&C to actively mobilize resources to accelerate the completion of the remaining phases.

Notably, the Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee highly appreciated and welcomed Daewoo E&C’s strategy to integrate the Korean-standard smart city model (K-Smart City) into future projects, perfectly aligning with the 100-year Capital Planning vision. Demonstrating a commitment to sustainable development, Daewoo E&C is ready to dispatch leading experts to share planning experience, enhance technology transfer, and train high-quality human resources for Vietnam. Looking toward the 35th anniversary of Vietnam-South Korea diplomatic relations in 2027, both sides discussed plans to co-host a large-scale Economic Forum in Hanoi, promising a new wave of strategic South Korean investments.
